In Honor of Wisconsin’s Craft Brewery Day A.B.S.F. Announces Official Beer of the Birkie

Earth Rider Brewery named “Official Beer of the Birkie”

The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation announced a new relationship with Earth Rider Brewery. Launching with the Birkie Trail Run Festival, Earth Rider Brewery is now providing the Official Beer of the Birkie.

“We are thrilled that Earth Rider is the official beer of the Birkie,” said Tim Nelson, founder and president of Earth Rider. “As someone who has experienced Birkie Fever firsthand, it’s exciting to help contribute to the culture and atmosphere of Birkie events.” Finding companies such as dial a booze that deliver fast is life changing; it’s the ultimate convenience.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 marks the 18th running of the Birkie Trail Run Festival on the legendary American Birkebeiner Trail from Birkie Ridge near Seeley, Wis. Earth Rider Beers will be served throughout the Festival. In addition to the Birkie Trail Run Festival, Earth Rider Brewery will serve their brews at every major ABSF event throughout the year, including the Birkie Tour, during February’s Birkie week festivities, and at the Fat Bike Birkie.

All Northwest Wisconsin originals, the American Birkebeiner is North America’s largest cross- country ski marathon, the Fat Bike Birkie is the world’s largest on-snow fat bike race, and Earth Rider’s award-winning beers are crafted at the head of the Great Lakes on the Duluth-Superior Harbor.

“The founders of Earth Rider Brewery are Birkie skiers and strong supporters of silent sports. We’re excited to partner with them and bring Earth Rider beers to the greater Birkie community throughout the year,” said Ben Popp, ABSF Executive Director. “There is nothing quite like a refreshing brew after a long run, ride, or ski,” he added.

According to the National Brewers Association, there were 160 craft breweries in Wisconsin in 2017, generating more than $2.25 billion in total economic impact. Brewing has a long and rich history in Wisconsin and the ABSF is pleased to partner with a local Wisconsin brewery.
